Why We Don't Hype Meaningful Use

Electronic Health Record (EMR/EHR) vendors are hyping the HITECH stimulus money in an attempt to convince you to purchase their overpriced products.

Their websites are plastered with white papers, worksheets, and other announcements designed to do one thing – make you feel panicked so you'll rush to purchase their product.

So, why aren't we joining in with all the hype? For three basic reasons:

  1. Faced with massive budget deficits, who knows how Congress will “modify” these incentives in the future? In fact the Spending Reduction Act of 2011 has already focused on cutting HITECH funding, among a lot of other things. So don’t be pressured into buying an EHR in the hopes of collecting the stimulus money as you may be left disappointed, to say the least.
  2. We believe an EHR should be purchased only when you are ready – and not a day before. That's why we let you try Amazing Charts risk-free for three (3) months so you can make an informed decision on whether our EHR is the right one for your practice.
  3. You don't need the Government money to help pay for Amazing Charts. Our EHR is transparently priced at just $1995 for the first year, and then $995/year thereafter. This is tens of thousands of dollars less than the average EHR. And although many systems try to make their price more appealing by offering it at a monthly rate, don't be fooled. Inevitably you will  be cajoled into signing a long-term contract committing you to years of these monthly payments with no way out.
