The medical assistants regularly import things into a patient's chart, but I am not notified they need to be signed off until I stumble on them in the patient's imported items section. How are we supposed to do this so the provider is notified there are items to sign off?

Unless the medical assistant has a security level of Provider or Mid-level they will have to select a provider to send a sign-off notification to. After scanning something into the chart they should be selecting you from the prompt.

I found they had not been doing that. Problem has been corrected. Thanks,
