I would like us all to put the codes that we write for reports so we can all find them easily.
i.e. all diabetics, then all diabetics not having an a1c (in tracked data) in the last 3 months....I would be willing to tabulate these so we could make a list...help...it is giving me nightmares....

Todd,

Are you trying to save the reports so you can run them later? I'm a little confused with what exactly you are trying to do

I am having trouble writing the simple codes to pull out data using the reports function. I have looked through the search function on this board and cannot find any additional help. I want to run certain reports monthly, such as which diabetic patients (using both ICD 10 and ICD 9 codes) have not had an a1c (in tracked data) within the last 3 months...and they have to be active patients...I hope this makes it clear...still a little dizzy after 20 hours in the car driving home from Orlando...

So you have your A1C's in tracked data and not coming in through an interface?

I don't know if you can actually run a report querying those that haven't had something in tracked data greater than 3 months.

If you have your labs come in via interface, you could run a report:

DIAGNOSIS, DIAGNOSIS CONTAINS "DIABETES"
LABORATORY & ORDERS, TEST NAME = HEMOGLOBIN A1C
LABORATORY & ORDERS, ORDERS NOT COMPLETED IN X MONTHS > 3

thanks I will try it....I think version 9 could do it with tracked data as well...we all need to write down the report language show we can all share them..that would be so cool...todd

Todd - if you folks run into something you can't do from the report writer, we could always write a SQL script that you could run from a read-only account in the SQL. Just sayin'

that's great...I think if someone wrote some simple report language that we need on a quarterly, and or yearly basis...then anyone with a brain would be able to see the light and pay for it...

I started to answer and then got sidetracked and never finished.
Try reports/diagnosis <contains> diabetes (although you can check more specific this will get all the types.

then Schedule/months since last seen < 24 (you don't want people who are not active, feel free to change this to 36)

then Laboratory & Orders / Orders not completed in X months / >3

Now, this presupposes that you put all you HgbA1Cs into orders.

Another way would be to make a rule that diabetics need HgbA1C every 3 months and use Health Maintenance / due to track along with the other criteria.

Thanks...as you can guess all my a1c's are not in orders, but are in tracked data and in under an interface as well....I will build a report list and slowly it will come together...

Is there a trick for running reports on patients that have Transferred their care out of the office? I have tried Demographics but, can not find anything in the sub area that fits TRANSFERRED OUT. I tried INACTIVE and it pulls up all of our patients.

Thanks

Wendell had the ide I was thinking of for this. The problem is that there is no way for the report to return a result for something that is not there (A1C needed to be entered into tracked data). Creating a Heath Maintenance rule for HgbA1C on diabetics every 3 months would make this easy. Then you can run a report for HM Due = Custom Rule.

Currently there is no report for clients who transferred their care out of office. The MU reports will count this, but just as a number and not specific patients.

Allison,

There is a work around that will help you from this point forward but will not help you at the current moment. You can make a template that put in an addendum call it "transfer out of office" or whatever you want. Then you can do a text search for all patients that have that text string in their chart.

That is the easiest work around but like I said this will work for future stuff but not anything prior.

Hope this helps

Question::: I really don't get AC's REPORT window. The options given do not seem to work for what we need. Now we are trying to run a report on the number of Medicare only patients that we have seen in 2016. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank You!!!!

It works sequential, most of the time. That being said.....
1)Schedule / Months since last seen / <12
2)Demographics / Insurance / =Medicare (or however it is listed)

This should give you the list of Medicare patients.

A twist is that you said Medicare ONLY. That, I am not sure you easily exclude unless there are only one or 2 additional plans. You can export to excel and then start to go through the list.

Thanks Wendell. We may be able to stay under the radar regarding MACRA and Medicare patients. Fingers crossed.
