At the risk of pushing some product, I know from being on the board a while that Revo Uninstaller is the preferred application for those using 3rd-party backup software. I got an email from Revo announcing this, so I thought I would pass it along.

I have used the free version of Revo for a long time. There are some perks for the pro version but I never felt it was worth almost $40 to upgrade.

I upgraded before I wrote this post

I feel it's a great product and this is an amazing price. You can get by well with the free version but at this price why not get the pro.

smile I know your mottos has always been, "And, did I tell you, it is free"

Mine has always been, "If it costs more, it must be better." LOL

I would have recalled more of your free apps in your lecture had it not been 50 degrees in the hotel auditorium. If I recall, you had a grey sweatshirt. While I live in Maine where there are plenty of cold days, my guess is it is much more predictable. Your being from Chicago probably gives you the mindset to be ready for anything.

For those who remember, that was a great ACUC, although the temp was out of control. And, I recall having three lectures, all of which flopped badly. And, breakfast was like musical chairs. Wendell and Leslie, et. al. always the early risers with the others left no room for me. I always had to go sit in the corner. frown

The early bird gets the worm. grin

I do like free, but that price is the next best thing.

Which one are you using the Pro installed on mulitple computers or the "portable"? Is the portable sufficient for managing 5 computers?

I do more at my home computer in terms of adding and subtracting programs.

I usually use ninite(.com) to load a new computer (It will automatically download all of your common programs in one swoop, saves a lot of time setting up a new computer.) Revo is one of the programs I add to the list because it will remove programs that can be difficult and scrubs places most uninstallers don't.

I suppose the portable might be a better deal, but I don't add and remove programs often from the office computers, just at home. So just having free for the office is sufficient.

I do think they seem to be a company worth supporting with my money. The free version does not have advertising.
