Hi all,

Went through a demo of the Updox faxing service, which I thought was pretty cool.

Any thoughts from the people who either have the system, or even from people who have thought about it?

Thanks.

One of the best programs out there, ever IMHO. My nurse of 7.5 years loved it and my new nurse of about 4 months loves it. Makes their job much easier. I started out initially with the faxing and added the portal about a year later back in 2012. Well worth it.

I've been using it for just about 8-10 years. It's fantastic to go all digital. I have a scanner on my desk, Updox, a Dropbox account, and empty file cabinets.

Thanks. But isn't the portal already built into AC?

I think there is a way to sync AC and the Updox portal. I never have because I like it separate, the way I run things in the office. Some of the portal messages are like phone messages requesting an appt or simple mundane questions that clutter up the chart that are saved in Updox but I don't feel need to be saved to AC.

I've been using Updox for 2-3 years. It is very good. Staff imports into your messages and the appropriate chart. I, too, don't like the portal and we don't use it. Maybe it has improved. It's great to archive old faxes. Especially when a pharmacy claims they've faxed a refill request repeatedly and the patient claims same and you can prove you've received none.

If not the portal, what other method do you use to securely communicate with your patients?

Lane,
I hope I didn't give the wrong impression, but I absolutely love the portal with Updox, as my nurse too. I have over 800+ active portal users in my practice and find it an excellent alternative direct route to my nurse, who manages the portal well. Just another effective means
of communication for her. I have to say my patients really appreciate being able to get a hold of her via the portal.

Having a problem with Forms on the Updox Patient Portal (not as yet resolved), but wanted to post about my satisfaction with Updox response to my tech help request. New to me, there is now a "chat" option, and also a link within chat to email, in case the wait is long. Response to my email was within 2 hours, and I received a phone call the next day. Way to go Updox!
