The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has made additional funds available for providers who apply. Providers may be eligible if they received general distribution payments in April, as detailed in this article we posted earlier this month. Providers who received any of these general distributions should apply for additional relief payments here. In order to apply, the portal will request the following: the Billing TIN(s), the provider’s gross sales as submitted on its tax return, the provider’s estimated revenue losses in March and April 2020 due to COVID, a copy of the provider’s most recently filed tax return, and a listing of the TINs of any subsidiary organizations that have received relief funds but do not file separate tax returns. Take action now if you are eligible!

The HHS will also be providing reimbursements for uninsured individuals, for COVID-19 testing and treatment. These reimbursements will generally match Medicare rates for similar services. Claims reimbursement can be requested retroactively for services provided on or after February 4th, 2020. You can learn more about the program and apply here. The Payer ID is 95964 and the Payer name is COVID19 HRSA Uninsured Testing and Treatment Fund. Participating providers must attest that they verify patients are uninsured and will accept the program reimbursement as payment in full, with no balance billing to the patient. There are also terms and conditions such as audit and review post-reimbursement. We will be setting these payers up in our practice management systems to enable billing when the payer becomes active on May 6th.
